Title: Engineer (Field Testing)

Purpose: To provide engineering resource within Mechanical Testing at Hazelwood to support Field Testing activities, working closely with the segment technical and commercial teams.
The role will require domestic and international travel.
Ensure field tests are aligned with business goals and agree milestones, dates and accountability.
Plan and implement projects, sometimes acting as project leader.
Develop solutions to problems where precedents may or may not exist.
Develop in depth knowledge of field test methods for fuel and lubricant development and product development and differentiation, to assist in the development of new field tests and testing procedures.
Build and maintain relationships with business partners and interact with business segment technical and commercial teams to develop field testing strategies.
Review field test performance with customers and colleagues at milestones to verify field test progression is meeting expectations.
Locate and establish relationships with new test sites to match testing needs.
Coordinate the collection and analysis of used oil samples and operational data from test vehicles and components to provide conclusions on lubricant performance and make recommendations for improvements in field testing.
Responsible for compliance with legal and/or other protocols relevant to the role.
Represents Lubrizol at external industry meetings and/or with customers and/or with suppliers, OEM’s and Fleet Operators
Leverage trends in customer industries/marketplaces to shape solutions and approaches for the customer.
Required Skills / Knowledge / Expertise:
Fundamental understanding in a specialised technical field.
General knowledge of relevant technical and non-technical disciplines outside area of specialisation.
General knowledge of engine, driveline, and other systems and the manufacturing OEM’s.
Experience of design or analysis of data/systems with meaningful conclusions.
Use of computer packages to aid design, data/system analysis and process improvements.
Understands test hardware and/or test/site systems.
Completed Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering preferred (or working towards).
