Adhesives Application & Lab Manager
Summary of Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to develop applications by leveraging technologies to create commercial value, through formulations, prototyping, processing and testing. Responsible for technical project management based upon business direction and segmentation, also managing the technical service function globally for Adhesives TPU business and interfacing with key external accounts. It also includes technical product support of commercial TPU grades for adhesives.
Essential Job Functions:
Proactively maintain a safe working environment.
Lead and execute development of unique and differentiated products in the market segment
Lead new product development, create unique testing protocols, and simulate end-use performance
Together with Sales, Business Development and Marketing functions, build customer relationships and translate their requirements to project definitions / specifications
Own and develop structure property relationships
Utilize predictive modeling and statistical tools to accelerate development
Work collaboratively with other internal / external groups and apply scientific principles to extend performance understanding
Develop prototypes to meet unmet customer needs by using test methods and formulations
Understand and create data to support value propositions and customer value communications
Together with Product Management, manage entire product life-cycle through the internal systems and customers
Engage in creative innovation
Lead resolution of significant customer or product issues using root cause analysis and bridge internal resources with external needs for successful completion. Technical support on claims.
Ensure and supervise creation and update of product support information such as technical data sheets and specific technical information, such as drying and processing guides.
Training and improving skill set of technical service engineers and sales force.
Provide customer and conference technical or product presentations as needed.
Supervise technicians and ensure an optimal service of the MM Laboratory according to the standards of Quality and Safety from Lubrizol.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in polymer related industry
Ability to interact with internal business groups and key customers creating customer intimacy
Working knowledge of adhesives or polymer properties, processing and testing procedures
Good knowledge of English is a must. Other language skills are desirable
