Hazard Communication Manager, Asia Pacific

PURPOSE:

This position is to manage and lead team of hazard communication specialists in authoring SDSs and hazard label text to support product sales in Asia Pacific region. Develop and maintain reliable data, process and system to ensure accuracy of SDS and label text outputs that comply with hazard communication regulatory requirements and meet with business and customer needs in Asia Pacific region.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plan and lead regulatory evaluations of materials for SDS and label system support of Lubrizol operations, sales and distribution of products and samples in Asia Pacific region.

  • Plan and lead execution of all SDS and label text authoring to meet strict global regulatory requirements and business and customer service expectations in Asia Pacific.

  • Plan and lead management of PSCD master data for Asia Pacific to meet strict regulatory requirements and business and customer service expectations in the region.

  • Provide customer support and issue management/resolution for all hazard communication related matters in running the business in Asia Pacific

  • Provide consultative direction for all SDS and product regulatory management system enhancements and system changes as subject matter experts for SDS authoring, workflow, and master data requirements in Asia Pacific.

  • Proactively monitor, evaluate business impact, and communicate new and amended hazard communication legislation and regulations in Asia Pacific region.

  • Provide leadership and direction to team of hazard communication specialists. Develop them to ensure they have appropriate skills and competencies necessary for an effective functional organization

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

  • PhD or MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific discipline and 4 years’ experience in hazard communication or transportation classification and systems development within the chemical industry; BS degree with minimum 7 years relevant experience.

  • Expert knowledge and experience in Asia hazard communication regulatory requirements; Global understandings are plus.

  • Knowledge and experience with industry SDS authoring systems

  • Proven leadership skills both within and external to department

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and appropriately manage priorities for self and regional organization

  • Proficient with computer relational databases and common business related computer software programs

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a team environment

  • Detail oriented and results driven

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
