The Lubrizol IS co-operative education program works together with selected universities that sponsor a work/study curriculum in computer science or information solutions. As a Lubrizol IS co-op, you will rotate through a number of different assignments based on your interests and on the company’s needs. The typical rotation takes place in Wickliffe. You will be exposed to a variety of assignments depending on the number of rotations you do in the program. Participation in at least two alternate semesters is highly encouraged / desired. This ensures that you get a flavor for more traditional information solutions roles.
SharePoint Enrichment (Development Solutions)
You will be a member of a team that enhances, supports and promotes the use of Microsoft SharePoint which is used throughout the Lubrizol Corporation globally. SharePoint is a Microsoft tool which allows global teams to work better together and well as general communications throughout the corporation. Some features of this tool include Communities to share ideas, Content management to share documents and Web Sites to manage projects and publish information. Your role may include: interacting with end users to understand business requirements, develop solutions to help solve businesses problems and/or assist users better understand and utilize the tool.
SharePoint Enrichment and Administration (Apps Technical Services)
You will be working side-by-side with an Analyst or Administrator to enhance, maintain and secure a SharePoint environment which is used throughout the Lubrizol Corporation globally. Some specific duties may include: working with users to recover or archive content from a site, upgrade to a new release, assist with the installation and testing of software add-ons, create scripts to automate tasks and update and test disaster recovery procedures. Additional duties will be assigned based on specific projects that are active during that semester.
Strategy and Technology Reporting (Portfolio and Service Management)
The Portfolio and Service management team is responsible for defining and tracking the processes by which IS runs its business. In this role you will become familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM) standard processes, Project Portfolio Management processes and how conformance to these are measured and monitored within Lubrizol. You will be responsible for helping to develop reports and dashboards which will help the management team assess performance against these standards and continuous process improvement. Additional duties will be assigned based on specific projects that are active during that semester.
Product, Safety, and Compliance Labeling
This assignment is directly related to creation and maintenance of Lubrizol material labeling. Samples, raw materials, intermediates and products must all have proper labeling to be compliant with regulatory standards. This assignment will involve regular communications with the business community, Product Safety and Compliance experts, Transportation experts and the labeling committee. Some responsibilities include developing label statistics, label templates and testing.
Global Help Desk Support (Service Desk)
You will be working side-by-side with global help desk staff members to support, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues, questions and requests. The global help desks are the entry way to IS. They are the first person the customer interacts with in terms of their day to day computer/application needs. The global help desk team supports customers around the globe in five different languages (English, French, Dutch, Spanish and German). In addition to customer support activities, you will be involved in building/re-imaging computers, installing software, virus investigation, basic system administration, and general computer and system maintenance. You may be exposed to new software and hardware being introduced into the Lubrizol standard operating environment during your co-op semester. Additional duties may be assigned based on specific projects that are active during that semester.
B2B Support (Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Intelligence Solutions)
You will help ensure the day to day functionality of our Business to Business software solutions are performing as designed. Troubleshooting and analysis skills will be leveraged when unanticipated events/data compromise the normal process and recovery of the system/process is needed. Interaction with third party software vendors, a variety of Lubrizol IS personnel and Lubrizol customers will most likely occur while fulfilling this role.
SAP Basis Support
You will be a member of a team responsible for providing system support for Lubrizol’s SAP enterprise software environment. The environment includes the following products, each with their own separate systems and landscapes: ERP (enterprise resource planning), BW (business warehouse), CRM (Customer relationship management), EP (enterprise portals), HCM (human capital management) and SM (solution manager). You will work on various technical problems that arise during the daily operations of the running a global software solution. You will work on projects involving the installation of new support packages, fixes and software add-ons, monitoring and troubleshooting system performance, and working with the change control process for SAP.
Networking & Telecom Support
You will be a member of a team responsible for maintaining Lubrizol’s global voice and data network. You will work on various technical problems that arise during the daily operations of the running a global network. You will work on projects involving the installation of new Voice over IP phone systems, monitoring and troubleshooting network traffic, Network Security issues and upgrading network links responsible for carrying both the voice and data traffic to/from Lubrizol’s remote facilities.
Client & Server Technology Team
You will be working with a group of professionals proficient in Microsoft technologies such as Windows client/server operating systems, PKI, Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP), System Center Operations Manager (MS SCOM), and Active Directory. You will also gain experience with VMWare server virtualization, Citrix XenApp application delivery, and automating system administration tasks with VBScript and PowerShell. The client & server team is responsible for architecting new solutions, providing 3rd level technical support, and ensuring a predictable, consistent customer experience across our core infrastructure investments. Some specific responsibilities may include: resolving customer incidents logged by the helpdesk or operations, testing core software updates to be implemented during change and release cycles, building additional physical or virtual server capacity, configuring MS SCOM monitoring alerts, assisting with Active Directory support, assisting with Forefront Endpoint Protection security event monitoring and remediation, and working on projects that are active during that semester.

Who are we looking for?
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems or Computer Engineering from an accredited university, with a graduation date of 2019 or later.
Students with GPA > 3.0 will be given priority consideration.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
