Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Blackley, Manchester

The role: -

Lubrizol is looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist to join the UK Purchasing Team.

In this role you will be responsible for execution of various tasks within SAP and general support of the procurement to pay process. The position has broad and varied responsibilities that support all local procurement activities as needed for the region or function, including database and file management, order placement, GR/IR coordination as well as payment assistance and problem resolution.

If successful you will be responsible for: -

  • Managing various databases, files and lists - including data entry, review, clean-up

  • Assisting in training others in relevant purchasing processes

  • Creating new and run existing reports, preparing presentations as requested

  • Aid buyers in researching suppliers, gathering data for supplier performance evaluations

  • Create vendor profiles and monitor critical suppliers for continued viability to meet LZ needs

  • Use RFIs (request for information) to gather internal and external input for projects

  • Use RFQs (request for quotations) / RFPs (request for proposals) to identify best supply source

  • Manage "procure through payment" process for maximum efficiency (PO’s, expediting, receiving and payment issues, GR/IR for assigned areas)

  • Ensuring compliance with RFP terms or contract terms

  • Negotiating restocking fees

  • Entering and managing SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports) when problems need to be documented. End users may enter SCARS into SAP. This is the preferred practice and is the way operations are handled in the Asia Pacific region.

  • Managing master data including: store's items, material master items, info records, source lists, perform info record price updates, identify opportunities for cost savings

  • Administrator of various systems and programs

  • Administrative/office duties

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent in supply chain, business administration, logistics, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or other technical degree

  • Be able to relate well with individuals at various levels, inside and outside of the organization

  • Demonstrate analytical and organizational skills

  • Demonstrate negotiation skills

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Having some experience with SAP is preferred
