Global Sales & Operations Planning Process Manager

Accountability statement:

Accountable for defining and implementing Strategic Improvements and ensure Governance for LZ Global Supply and Demand Planning processes, in specific: Sales & Operations Planning , Demand Planning .

Summary of Area of Responsibility

The Global Supply Planning COE Process Manager will lead the definition, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of assigned processes in the Supply and Demand Planning area across regions and business units for LZ globally. The Process Manager will be a visible, leading and supporting partner for the Operations Supply Planning end user community, ensuring alignment between end user needs and strategic direction, including organizational requirements.

Reports to the Global Supply & Demand Planning Director – COE.

Typically liaises with: Global Supply Chain Director, Global Supply Chain Manager, Regional Supply Chain Manager, Regional Supply Planning Manager, Regional Supply Planning COE Lead, Global Demand Manager, Regional Demand Planner, Subject Matter Expert, Core Global Supply & Demand Planning Council members

Essential Role Functions:

  • Processes: As owner, responsible to define all processes in his/her area of responsibility, i.e. policy/process description, including: purpose – scope – deliverables – performance measurement – RASCI. Liaise with internal and external partners (research and advisory companies, Berkshire affiliates, selected customers) to ensure best-in-class process design and implementation.

  • Technology: Work with the BPL to scout the market for new technology supporting the assigned processes, write functional spec – support BPL with selection and implementation: first focus on Kinaxis RapidResponse applications. Alternatively work with LZ/COE internal resources to build technology/tools in house. Ease the process by standardizing technology, tools and reports for S&OP and Demand Planning across LZ GBU.

  • Organization: Write process related role descriptions, perform gap analysis to existing roles, define required skillsets and competencies as a service to Operations and Businesses. Work with regional Supply Chain/Supply Planning/Businesses and HR for role assignment to job descriptions, assist in hiring process where requested/applicable.

  • Governance: Drive the process related internal audit program, assist Regional Supply Planning COE lead with setup of internal audits. Update processes, policies and training material based on audit findings and changes in strategy.

  • Training: Determine training needs, write and update process/policy related training manuals – training video’s – organize external training where applicable. Revise documentation/manuals based on outcome of audits. Deliver training to Regional Supply Planning COE lead and Subject Matter Experts (+ end users where appropriate).

  • KPI’s & Metrics: Define process related KPI’s and metrics, investigate and fulfill reporting needs. Drive data analytics, supported by Global Supply & Demand Planning Analyst.

  • Continuous Improvement: Keep processes and policies up-to-date, lead improvement initiatives in execution of processes within the Operations Supply Chain and Business end user community. Drive S&OP processes to maturity level 4 for all GBU. Maximize Demand Planning effectiveness while minimizing manual intervention.

  • Council: Lead the Global Demand Planning Council + Member of the Core Global Supply & Demand Planning Council.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, other Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, Applied Economics or other relevant degree with proven ability to develop logical data analysis to drive process improvements & 3-5 years in leadership role

  • Certified on Sales & Operations Planning and Demand Planning or Integrated Business Planning (Oliver Wight or equivalent).

  • 5 years relevant experience (S&OP, IBP, Demand Planning) as solid foundation.

  • Demonstrated expertise in implementation and continuous improvement of S&OP/IBP processes in a major (chemical) company.

  • Demonstrated willingness to challenge status quo – drive for continuous improvement – promote Lubrizol’s Cultural beliefs .

  • Effectively influence others via interpersonal skills and logical data presentation – able to demonstrate and sell COE and S&OP added value.

  • Excellent listening skills – effectively communicate to wide audience base including operations, supply chain and business representatives.

  • Demonstrate balanced approach to business, operations, cost and service.

  • Willing to travel up to 25 % of time, domestic and interregional.
