Title: Supply Chain Manager, Transportation, Warehousing & Analytics

Reporting to: Global Supply Chain Director, Lubrizol Advanced Materials (LZAM)

Subordinates: A team of 10 experienced professionals

Job Grade: Flexible (commensurate with experience)

Job Scope

  • Manage the LZAM Transportation and Warehousing execution team in North America.

  • Manage all inbound logistics, outbound logistics (including exports) and warehousing activities for LZAM North America with a strong focus on customer experience.

  • Develop supply chain analytics as a strong capability, using advanced tools, to identify value leaks and help leverage efficiencies across LZAM supply chain.

  • Provide leadership to strengthen LZAM value proposition by identifying and resolving issues related to our transportation and warehousing operations.

  • Provide timely and high-quality response to requests and feedback from internal and external customers.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the value and quality of our transportation and warehousing services by collaborating with the relevant cross-functional teams (such as logistics procurement) and supporting improvement projects as needed.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

  • You are part of the LZAM Global Operations Team.

  • Drive a culture of safety, reliability, efficiency and superior customer experience.

  • Coach and develop the members in the team to achieve mutual success for the employees and Lubrizol.

  • Be accountable for the safe and reliable performance of all inbound logistics, outbound logistics and warehousing activities for LZAM North America.

  • Collaborate closely with the commercial organization and operations functions (such as procurement) to optimize the return on our investment in transportation and warehousing.

  • Reduce LZAM’s exposure to risks in the area of transportation and warehousing through the recognition of trends, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures.

  • Ensure standardization of business processes in transportation and warehousing, collaborating with counterparts in other regions and relevant functions.

  • Build collaborative relationships between different functional areas to provide a consistent and timely response to customer inquiries.

  • Initiate and lead projects to help LZAM achieve improved customer satisfaction as it relates to transportation and warehousing services.

  • Be accountable for developing supply chain analytics into a strong competitive advantage for the LZAM supply chain organization.

  • Ensure disciplined use of the SAP ERP system and standard business processes in your area of responsibility.

  • Support the implementation of supply chain standard service offerings as designed.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and expectations.

  • Develop reports and compelling analyses to support the commercial teams and operations.

Requirements – education, experience, skills

  • Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering, supply chain, logistics, business)

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain and logistics

  • Strong people management experience

  • Proven analytical skills, especially in the supply chain domain

  • SAP proficiency (including BW, BOBJ)

  • Passion for excellence and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on customer service

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Persistence and discipline, with a drive for results

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Process orientation

Considered a plus

  • Experience working with global teams in multinational companies

  • Experience in the chemicals industry

  • Advanced educational qualifications (e.g. MBA)

  • Experience in marketing, product management, customer service or sales

  • APICS certification (e.g. CPIM, CLTD, CSCP)

  • Knowledge of specialty chemicals product portfolio / applications / technology
