Lubrizol Advanced Materials currently has an opening for a Technical Marketing Manager. The Technical Marketing Manager is responsible for providing the technical expertise for the sales and marketing organization. This role is responsible for the commercial support needed to educate the sales, marketing and customer base regarding the value and solutions our products can create for our customer base, converting new business opportunities into technical approvals and to help identify opportunities for new products/solutions via identification of unmet needs.
Possess a thorough understanding of the technology, formulations, applications, and performance requirements in various Performance Coatings market segments, including Paints & Coatings, Composites or Printing & Packaging.
Fill pipeline with growth opportunities
Work in collaboration with marketing to identify growth opportunities in focus segments
Write technical projects to deliver unique/differentiated products
Willingness to go into the lab and work on technical projects
Work with customer technical department to identify growth opportunities and win technical approvals for new business
Support new product launch (selling cases, literature, etc.)
Provide technical support/expertise to customer as requested
Help develop value propositions and selling cases for new and existing products
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors of Science degree (chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, biology)
0-5 years of technical experience in the paints and coatings industry
Must have broad commercial and technical skills (Solid technical sales/marketing skills in the paints and
Ability to travel 20% of the time, domestically and internationally to start, growing to 40% in time
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop good working relationships with sales, marketing, outside customers
CONSIDERED A PLUS:
Technical experience with dispersants and specialty additives technology
Technical experience with additives for the paints and coatings or ink industries
Masters of Science degree or PhD (chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, biology)
