Vesta, a Lubrizol company is a contract manufacturer that specializes in producing thermoplastic extruded tubing and components for medical devices that are used in hospitals internationally. We strongly believe that it takes quality people to make quality products that are so important for everyday use, and we are always looking to expand our Vesta family. Vesta is located in Corona California which is located in Riverside County. We less than 30 miles away from the beach and Disneyland.

Vesta Corona, California location has a class 8 certified clean room, which is 17,000 square feet. We have 14 extrusion lines as well as co-ex lines. We are able to run multiple extruders which can produce a two layer, stripes and three layer extrusion.

VESTA JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Purchasing Coordinator DATE: July 2017

WORK LOCATION: Corona, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The duty of a purchasing coordinator is to negotiate and secure exceptional pricing for all materials, office supplies, and items purchased for manufacturing. Responsibilities will include working with manufacturing to ensure availability of materials and prioritization of customers and on-time delivery; working with sales to ensure timely costing, quotations and customer information, and tracking that inventory levels and output are set in place for optimum in manufacturing.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • PO Entry, and prepare PO packets for Production Work Orders.

  • Edits orders received for price and nomenclature.

  • Informs internal customers of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.

  • Writes or types order form, or enters data into computer to determine total cost.

  • Records or files copy of orders received.

  • Follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.

  • Computes best vendor pricing, discount, sales commission, and shipping charges as required. Negotiates and negotiates recommendation for best purchasing practices.

  • Confers with production, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.

  • Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for management.

  • Answers questions from internal customers on or directs them to the person that is able to assist them.

  • Types quotes and maintains files for all quotes that are processed.

  • Maintains vendor name and address in data base.

DESCRIPTION OF MARGINAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare spreadsheets

  • Assists and serves as backup when shipping and receiving is out

HIRING GUIDELINES:

  • Successful Completion of 4 years of high school

  • BA/BS Preferred

  • Certification in APICS preferred

OTHER GUIDELINES:

  • Knowledge of statistical concepts

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals

  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/COMPUTER SOFTWARE:

The employee will occasionally use QAD/Factivity (or similar ERP or labor/material reporting software), PC with Microsoft Office Products, and calipers, micrometers, rulers, Vernier and snap gages with frequent use of screw speed digital and laser adjustments.
