Vesta, a Lubrizol company is a contract manufacturer that specializes in producing thermoplastic extruded tubing and components for medical devices that are used in hospitals internationally. Vesta is located in Corona California which is located in Riverside County. We less than 30 miles away from the beach and Disneyland.
Vesta Corona, California location has a class 8 certified clean room, which is 17,000 square feet. We have 14 extrusion lines as well as co-ex lines. We are able to run multiple extruders which can produce a two layer, stripes and three layer extrusion.

CLASSIFICATION: Salary Part Time DIRECT REPORT(S): None
WORK LOCATION: Corona, CA
Develop new products and new manufacturing processes, relating to tubing and catheter products, with specific focus on secondary and value-added operations such as reflow, forming and sub-assemblies.
This can be an autonomous role, with room for growth, for a self-motivated candidate.
Direct Reports: None initially. Eventually may have both direct and indirect

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Develop catheter, catheter subassemblies, braided shafts and value-added operations (tipping, hole punching, skiving, printing, etc.) to meet customer’s specification for design, performance and quality. Including testing to ensure performance criteria is being achieved
Implement Vesta’s catheter assembly and braided reflow expansion plans– involving capital requirements, employee training, procedure and manufacturing process development and supplier development
Collaborate with plant management on facility layout for optimal manufacturing process flow
Assist in preparation of quotations related to catheter subassemblies and other secondary operations (including costing, technical and quality related items)
Interface with customers and sales managers to facilitate product design requirements and assess internal capability to manufacture the customer’s product
Collaborate with quality in defining validation protocols for process, products and equipment
Develop work plans and schedules for development activity and execute to plan
Generation of Project Documentation – pFMEAs, Process Validation Protocols & Reports, Manufacturing Procedures, BOMS, Routers, etc.
Work with operations to scale manufacturing for higher volumes, including implementation of lean principles for lowest scrap and high yielding manufacturing.

• Minimum of 5 years in design or manufacture of catheter or catheter sub-assemblies including braided reflow
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong project management skills
• Strong track record in development of catheter and catheter subassembly manufacturing
• Clinical understanding with respect to catheters and catheter delivery system use and application
• Familiar with design controls, ISO, GMP, QSR requirements and regulatory submission
• Must be able to work independently in a fast pace environment
• Must be innovative, motivated, detailed oriented, diligent and organized
• Must possess excellent verbal, written communication skills
• Working knowledge of plastics and metal is required
• Strong Business Acumen
• Overall Team Player with “can do” attitude
TRAVEL ON COMPANY BUSINESS
• As needed to support sales team in development of new business
