Job Mission

Looking for an ideal team player who would report to the Procurement Site Manager. Responsible for representing Lubrizol to supply base and facilitating the procurement of indirect goods and service. The primary task of the purchasing specialist is to provide administrative support that helps create business efficiency and effectiveness. The role will utilize SAP to procure material and ensure the business units are adhering to established procedures and guidelines. The role will be responsible for supporting local procurement activities as needed for the region or function, including database and file management, order placement, Good Receipt / Invoice Receipt coordination as well as payment assistance and problem resolution.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Act professionally at all times and handle all work activities in a legal and ethical manner in compliance with applicable laws and LZ policies.

  • Manage various databases, files and lists - including data entry, review and clean-up.

  • Create new and run existing reports, preparing presentations as requested.

  • Aid the buyers in researching suppliers, gathering data for supplier performance evaluations.

  • Create vendor profiles and monitor critical suppliers for continued viability to meet Lubrizol's needs.

  • Utilize RFIs (Request for Information) to gather both internal and external input for purchasing projects.

  • Utilize RFQs (Request for Quotations) / RFPs (Request for Proposals) to identify best source of supply.

  • Facilitate the "procure through payment" process for maximum efficiency (PO’s, expediting, receiving and payment issues, GR/IR for assigned areas).

  • Ensure compliance with RFP terms or contract terms.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings.

  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships to the suppliers and clients.

  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance.

  • Assist in developing and updating purchasing procedures and work instructions

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of (1) one year procurement experience OR High School Degree/Equivalent with minimum of (5) five years' procurement experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Chemical related experience is preferred.

  • Experience with SAP is preferred, but not required.
