Job Title | Strategic Global OEM Account Manager

Geographic Location | UK, France or Germany

Office Location | Office or Homebased (after probationary period)

Purpose of the role

To identify, explore, establish, evaluate and lead execution of new opportunities for Lubrizol to create value at OEM’s and to find ways for Lubrizol to share in the value created. To develop and manage relationships with selected OEMs, and to use those relationships to implement Lubrizol’s business strategies and plans in conjunction with Product Management Group and Sales functions as appropriate.

Accountability

To identify and secure opportunities at the OEM with support of the wider organisation that directly and indirectly helps grow Lubrizol share of value at the OEM that contributes to UOI growth of 3% annually.

Responsibilities

  • Be | The main point of contact for selected original equipment manufacturers (OEM) Accounts

  • Lead | The accounts and Lubrizol functions in support of increasing Lubrizol’s share of opportunity and influence

  • Deliver | The Lubrizol specific business strategies at the OEM

  • External focus | Develop an extensive network of contacts at the selected OEM Accounts across a broad range of disciplines to include both the commercial and the technical.

  • Internal focus | Grow internal contact networks within Lubrizol Product Management Group (PMG) | Sales | R&D.

  • Develop | Implement | The plans for all identified OEM accounts | Use inputs from the OEM management team | PMG | The OEM Council.

  • Enable | Opportunities for direct contact between the OEM | PMG | Other Lubrizol functions when necessary and where it supports execution of the company strategies.

  • Contribute | To the global OEM team | Work closely with other OEM Account Managers | Regionally | Globally as required

  • Identify | Develop | Opportunities for innovative new technologies that expands Lubrizol’s business portfolio at the OEM Accounts

  • Market Insights | Provide these to PMG and other Lubrizol functions from the OEM perspective | Help shape these offers to realise more value for Lubrizol

Requirements

  • Commercial Acumen | Across multiple end use areas such as | Manufacturers | Lubricant | Fuel | Additive | Material businesses

  • Technical Competence | In relation to manufacturer hardware systems and needs today, and for the future

  • Expertise | Experience | In dealing with manufacturers, and/or lubricant/fuel or speciality chemical industries

  • Motivation | Highly motivated self-starter, that can influence decisions at various levels of an organisation

  • Communication | Good communicator with the ability to simplify often complex situations into understandable plans and project updates

  • Flexibility | A team player that can unite and maximise the collaborative approach to business success with Lubrizol and OEM teams

  • Management | Previous experience in managing regional and multi-national project teams

  • Develop | Describe | Clearly defined positioning and differentiation for compelling value propositions and commercial insights

  • Identify Opportunities | To leverage and enhance value at the OEM through a Customer Impact Statement (CIS)

  • Interpret | Understand | Data, business, social, economic and market trends

  • Ability | To identify and match unmet needs of the OEM and the commercial benefits offered by Lubrizol in fulfilling these through technology solutions

  • Presentation | Computers | Skills that are coupled with an ability to use SharePoint, excel, word and other business management tools, such as CRM

  • Talent Development | A desire coupled with ability to develop Lubrizol future talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing

  • Leadership | Ability to organise, lead both internal and external meetings

Role Dimensions

  • OEM account with actual or potential for regional or global reach – multi country

  • Potential or actual deployment of wide range of product and service solutions from approx. 15 differing Lubrizol business units or profit centres

  • Coordinating group of around 10-20+ Lubrizol personnel in pursuit of value creation at the OEM Account

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in business studies, engineering, business or chemistry

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the lubricant, chemical or related industry or experience of working for or with OEM’s

  • Leadership experience, leading or coordinating cross functional teams

  • Second language preferred but not essential
