QC Technician

SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the general operations of the Quality Control Laboratory. These include testing of samples, recording and storing data, maintenance of laboratory equipment and general housekeeping. All activities are to be conducted in a manner consistent with all Lubrizol and site safety rules and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Testing of in-coming raw materials, in-process samples and finished goods.

  2. Operation of laboratory analytical equipment.

  3. Routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  4. Recording and storage of test data in computer system as well as paper file.

  5. Use of computers in all aspects of the laboratory operation.

  6. Communicating information to manufacturing areas.

  7. General housekeeping in the Quality Control Laboratory.

  8. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The QC Technician is expected to perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND TRAINING

  1. At least 2 years previous experience in the coatings industry with PH, viscosity and solids is required. GC and LC experience preferred.

  2. High School Diploma or GED required.

  3. Basic math skills, reading comprehension and ability to communicate with others.

  4. Must satisfactorily complete all safety training courses as offered by management.

  5. Basic computer skills are required.

  6. Duties will include lifting 55 pound bags, climbing stairs and moving gas cylinders short distances.
