Location: Spain – Barcelona (Lipotec at Gava)
Reporting to : Project Manager
FG Packaging Specialist Job brief: We are looking for an experienced Packaging Specialist for Cosmetic Finished Goods. He/She will be responsible to source packaging material (tubes, bottles, jars, airless, boxes, leaflets, labels, secondary packaging, etc.) for our Cosmetic Finished Goods Business, aligned with Project Management based on customer requirements and optimizing prices, delivery times and quantities. He/She will be responsible to keep an updated catalogue with all data about packaging and samples.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Source packaging material for new projects, attending customer brand strategy and meeting customer needs defined with the Project Manager (quality, pricing, delivery times, quantities, specifications, etc).
Negotiate conditions with suppliers (quality, target pricing, delivery times, quantities, specs, etc.); before to transfer to Purchasing Department for economical negotiation and homologate suppliers and filing components in the ERP system.
Look for new suppliers worldwide, finding alternatives to current packaging materials and new trends in packaging.
Onboard 2 suppliers at least for key packaging material.
Manage packaging drawings, artworks and its technical feasibility, etc.
Verify packaging drawings with the references.
Link to Purchasing Department related final conditions of Packaging material
Link to Packaging Engineer related tests to be performed and Filling Plant.
Link to other Departments (Technical Documentation, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, etc) with any documentation related to packaging material.
Link to Purchasing Department about incident management with suppliers (Delivery date, amounts, Quality complaints, etc.)
Provide information about Packaging status and statistics.
Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.
Build a “packaging catalogue” with all data (technical, economical, MOQ, etc) and keep it updated.
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Successful applicant will have:
Background: Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of Engineering, Business Administration, etc. Master of packaging technologies and/or packaging engineering will be valued.
Proven working experience (5 years +) as a packaging specialist and packaging buyer, for cosmetics, sourcing material worldwide
Affinity with technical topics related packaging
Logical thinking and creative problem solving ability
Team work oriented
Excellent supplier/client-facing and internal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
Ability to manage complexity, multi-task, pay great attention to details, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MRP’s
Fluent Spanish and English (advanced level, spoken and written)
Availability to travel
