Job Title : Project Engineer

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Engineer provides overall leadership at the Gavà facility being responsible for building relationships with Lubrizol Life Science organization for new engineering projects, new investments and focused on new opportunities to support the business growth.

Key Job Accountabilities :

  • Manage major capital projects throughout Lubrizol tools.

  • Manage the technical, commercial and financial aspects of the capital projects.

  • Manage projects on scope, on time, on budget and in accordance with Lubrizol Advanced Materials stage gate process.

  • Manage relationships with engineering and construction firms.

  • Manage relationships within Lubrizol Skin Essentials (R&D, manufacturing, maintenance, legal, procurement, accounting, tax and global business units).

  • Ensure that capital projects are designed and installed safely and in accordance with applicable regulatory, corporate and local standards.

  • Lead scope development and resultant project cost estimate.

  • Collaborate with Procurement on commercial negotiations with vendors and contractors.

  • Lead communications from capital request to project development through project completion. This includes regular project status reporting, a review of project spending to date and forecasted spending.

  • Perform engineering project design and installation to support operations.

  • Work with construction management team at the construction site.

  • Assist with developing asset strategies by working with the global business units and plants.

  • Participate in the development of the annual capital plan.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of five years of Project Engineering/Manufacturing/Maintenance experience.

  • Proven Project Management experience.

  • Process Engineering experience considered a plus.

  • Knowledge of building codes and standards.

  • Maintenance/Utility knowledge.

  • Fluency in English/Spanish is a must.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal communications, team building and motivational skills.

  • Expertise on ISO9001:2015, ISO22716:2008 and HSES.

  • Proficient with Microsoft office products including Microsoft Project.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
