• Use competencies and skills in the electrical and instrument field to maintain and repair existing equipment and or install electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment

• Maintain current knowledge of electrical/instrument technology and trade methods while demonstrating quality workmanship

• Promote a positive, professional work environment for department coworkers


• Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Craftsman (equivalent experience and education considered)

• 5 or more years experience in the industrial instrument electrical field

• Strong safety record and work habits

• Able to maintain a physically strenuous routine (climbing, pushing, pulling and lifting heavy objects)

• Skilled in all types of conduit layout, bending and installation

• Skilled in hazardous location and intrinsically safe wiring methods

• Experienced in installation, troubleshooting and repair of single and 3-phase motors

• Strong understanding and application of 2008 NEC

• Solid computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite and SAP a plus

• Able to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics

• Efficient problem solving skills

• Strong leadership qualities

• Familiar with installing and troubleshooting control circuits

• Able to make efficient use of time through good organizational skills

• Willing to work any shift, overtime, holidays and call-ins

• Able to wear a respirator

• Willingness and ability to progress and learn in the electrical and instrument trade


• Excellent mechanical aptitude

• Ability to train and coach coworkers

• Experienced with installation, troubleshooting and repair of VFD’s & PLC’s

• Experienced with 575 volt electrical installation and troubleshooting

• Experienced with installation, troubleshooting and repair of UPS and generator systems

• Experienced with substation and switch gear maintenance
