Job Description
Title: Plant Manager
Department: Lubrizol Additives, Industrial Reports to : Kirk Johnson
This role is to direct and oversee all manufacturing, site and inventory management activities at manufacturing Plants for the CPI Engineering Services (Lubrizol RL Segment) business. To provide leadership, guidance and direction for the entire Manufacturing staff in a manner that ensures that the activities conducted within the plant environment are carried out in an effective, diligent, cost effective manner ensuring that the goals set for the organization can be successfully attained.
This position has responsibility for budgetary elements, site security, facility management, acquisition leadership, global inventory management, special project management and new product development that will enable the organization to reach the growth goals while maintaining strategic focus.
Responsibilities
Supports LZA OPS initiatives
Performs as an integral part of various committees within the organization in order to ensure collaboration with senior management. Optimizes resource utilization through effective production organization and identification of proper resources needed to meet/exceed customer expectations. Drives cost reduction through continuous improvement
Manage Inventory Levels based on the forecast
Develops an operating budget including capital expenditures and headcount; long-term facility and capacity plans (including equipment and personnel)
Participate in cross functional business activities to promote, support and identify best practices.
Provides Support to manufacturing staff where needed
Promote awareness and compliance of OHSA standards and EHS&S program.
Strong understanding of ISO guidelines and ability to promote compliance and initiate change and root cause analysis. Update, develop, and execute guidelines for products/procedures as appropriate.
Oversight of site security components; including facility access, employee safety, highly-maintained facility, etc.
Space allocation; capital expansion that meets the needs of the business.
Supervisory responsibility for manufacturing staff; including conducting performance reviews and coaching and developing team members

Deliver on conversion cost goals
Deliver on NWSM inventory goals
Support CPI’s competitive advantage of pristine quality and managing complexity for OEMs

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years of experience
Professional demeanor with emphasis on interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet required deadlines
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented
Knowledge of SAP preferred
Ability to think strategically at a high level
Incorporate innovation and implement strategies throughout all levels of the organization
