Job Description –Market Development Manager

Reports To: Segment Lead, BlazeMaster and New business development

Division: Lubrizol Advanced Materials India Private Limited

Location: Mumbai, India

Summary of Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to work with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth of BlazeMaster Fire Protection systems and new business development in Western India.


  1. Growth of BlazeMaster business in Western India

  2. Build presence in new segments like Hospitality, HVAC, Healthcare industry

  3. Establish Lubrizol as partner of choice with key stakeholders like Fire consultants, Contractors, Builders, Local fire officers in Western parts of India

  4. Managing strategic accounts

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and quantify BlazeMaster’s value proposition over traditional material

  • Prepare customer impact statements and customer value communication for specific segments

  • Work with licensee to get required approvals from local fire authorities, supply product on time to customers, joint visit to customers

  • Establish and build relationship with key stakeholders like Fire consultants, Contractors, Builders, Local fire officers

  • Maintain opportunity database and projects pipeline to manage execution of key opportunities and projects

  • Build and develop key strategic accounts. Organize to grow business at the key accounts in line with our BU strategic goals

  • Develop right channel partners for penetration of BlazeMaster in the market

  • Establish collaborative relationships with key customers, internal stakeholders including local and global team members

  • Establish presence in new market segments and applications like HVAC, Hospitality, Healthcare sector through quick win

  • Represent Lubrizol at trade shows, conferences, and at local industry association

  • Responsible for collecting market information and communicating current and emerging needs for target customers to drive value proposition development

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline from an accredited university

  • MBA in marketing preferred

  • Minimum 10 years ofexperience in Building Products industry, preferably in Fire Protection companies’ in Business development or sales role

  • Prior experience of establishing contact and working with key stakeholders in the value chain including Fire consultant, Contractors, MEP consultants, Builders etc.

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong drive for results.

  • Demonstrated abilities and successes in implementing new product, solution, technology and value selling programs
