Summary of Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for driving and improving the profitability of the business. The Marketing Analyst will analyse the financial performance of on-going projects and business initiatives, identify competitive threats and opportunities, and provide recommendations. The Marketing Analyst will support business case and due diligence activities to ensure the success of pipeline projects, and build growth. He will coordinate any actions with product management and technical marketing management, as needed, to convert growth opportunities into profitable new business for Lubrizol.
Essential Job Functions
Develop a thorough understanding of market and competition price positioning for our active ingredients and functional ingredients portfolio, analyze data and offer recommendations for pricing strategy
Act as commercial lead during project developments to offer regular financial analysis of the opportunity and monitor project costs and NPV
Support open innovation opportunities and due diligence analyses to evaluate commercial risks and financial upsides
Work closely with Product Management and Technical Marketing Managers during the development time, to properly define pricing and commercial strategy once the product is launched.
Collaborate with project owner to define the commercial approach to follow during project preview and pre-launch stages
Report on financials and project market forecasts during gate reviews and innovation reviews as required
Use SAP, as well as internal or external softwares and databases to provide financial support to the marketing and technical team as appropriate
Work closely with the Financial Partner for building the division financial trajectory and forecasts
Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or commercial school
Minimum 5 years of financial experience
Experience in the Chemical Specialty business
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with experience in statistical analysis and an ability to manipulate data.
Strong commercial instincts,
Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English. Good communication skills in Spanish will be a plus.
Logical mind and problem solving
Ability to work in a matrix organization and develop relationships with internal partners including supply chain, product management and project management
Considered a Plus:
