Purpose of the job

Support and drive PCG Lubrizol’s growth strategy by developing and managing the region Germany

Responsibilities

Contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products in Germany for PCG customers and prospects. Focuses on personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the sales and market development activities to promote growth of the business for assigned accounts and territories.

  • Foster and grow the appropriate business relationships both internally and externally.

  • Develop and implement competitive sales plans at the territory and account level.

  • Effectively communicate with internal R&D, Marketing, and Operations group.

  • Develop, negotiate and close sales contracts and agreements.

  • Create and implement account plans that are well aligned with the business strategy.

  • Comply with administrative requirements (call reports, forecasting, expense reports, etc.).

  • Represent Lubrizol at trade shows, conferences, and at local industry association, demand planning, and regional marketing meetings.

  • Engage closely with Marketing to identify and evaluate new, high value opportunities.

  • Develop and manage annual territory budget.

  • Manage lead distributor partner.

  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities to be able to enter new and growing applications, identify and support the launch of new products.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

  • Ideally a Bachelors degree in chemistry

  • A minimum 3 years of experience in the coatings industry, preferably in a technical or technical related role and sales&marketing

  • External customer relations experience in sales, customer service, or technical service is an asset

  • Willing and able to travel 50% of the time – home office option

  • Presentation and computer skills.

  • Tactical and strategic thinking and business acumen

  • Fluent written and spoken English and German

  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong drive for results.
