This position provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of a vision for the sustainable growth of Chemtool Incorporated.
Essential Job Functions
Providing guidance and direction for the entire Chemtool organization through the implementation of visionary goals and priorities.
Ensuring that the business conducted by Chemtool is carried out in an effective, diligent manner.
Making certain that the goals set for the organization are successfully implemented.
Development of corporate initiatives and metrics that support the growth of the Lubrizol Corporation.
Major decision making responsibilities that will enable Chemtool to move forward in being able to reach its aggressive growth goals while maintaining its strategic focus.
Understand the business, products and technology.
Maintain a thorough understanding of policies, operations and products.
Ensure compliance of Lubrizol’s ethical and legal conduct guidelines.
Liaise with Corporation on the status of the business.
Identify and secure strategic acquisitions and business relationships.
Create a vision for raw material supply; ensuring strategies are in place and effective.
Monitor the marketplace and global economies to assess impact on the business, adjusting our strategies to minimize negative impact.
Monitor Chemtool’s revenue and UOI performance to ensure the business meets or exceeds its financial goals by overseeing the management responsible for maintaining the current customer base and capturing new opportunities.
Manage capital investment for the business.
Final authority for SG&A expenses and L&O costs for the organization.
Provide leadership for Chemtool Quality and Responsible Care systems.
Organize the business to ensure effective growth of the business.
Manage the staffing requirements to ensure the personnel needed to maintain and improve upon our standards in customer satisfaction.
Build a motivated, creative Management team to drive the growth of the business and ensure succession by the development of key personnel.
Increase efficiency and consistency throughout organization.
- Understand the product line, and associated raw materials, manufacturing and QC processes.
- Bachelor’s degree required in chemistry or engineering field
Experience and Skills
At least 15 to 20 years of overall professional experience in commercial and management experience.
Technical background in specialty chemicals or lubricants.
Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and speeches.
Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
Market analysis and ability to organize and present data in a cohesive and meaningful fashion.
Ability to listen and identify customer needs.
Communication and ability to effectively manage people.
Motivated self-starter who is willing to take initiative.
Computer skills including: database, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP and pricing management systems is a plus.
Moderate travel (<40%) within the United States may be required – not estimated to be >40.

Supervisory Responsibility and Reporting
Directly supervises Senior Management at Chemtool.
This position reports to the Vice President of Industrial Specialties at Lubrizol.
