Lubrizol Product Manager in Singapore, Singapore
- Engine Oils:
To manage and drive Lubrizol’s Engine Oils (EO) business in Southeast Asia (SEA) in line with both the Corporate and Lubrizol Singapore Visions.
To support the Lubrizol goal of using our local strength to enable business within the global market.
- Viscosity Modifiers:
Product management of the Custom Solutions (CS) and Viscosity Modifiers (VM) portfolio of products. Analyze customer trends, competitive threats and market needs to implement strategies and plans at the regional level. Feed regional needs into the Global VM team and contribute to the development of the VM business plan
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A) Engine Oils
Support Regional EO Business Manager in the development and implementation of EO business strategy for SEA in line with Global EO strategy by working with Sales and OEM groups.
Work with SEA Sales team to achieve annual sales plan for engine oils.
Work with the SEA Sales team to develop and implement customer business plan for EO.
Lead PC/HD product positioning activities for Southeast Asia in support of customer business plan:
Understand and communicate the Product Performance Profile (commercial specification) and work with the EO Technology Managers on product development to meet demands of specific customers as well as the whole market
Effective pricing strategy implementation in accordance to the principles of mix management
Information collection on market demands and competitive intelligence to help implement effective product strategy.
Work with the SEA Sales team to organize promotional events, such as joint seminar with key accounts or industry trends seminars.
Provide training and presentation to sales, strategic customers, and at industry seminars
To take the lead in ensuring clear messages are delivered which are consistent with our Global and Regional marketing strategies
Work with the Project Manager to provide timely technical services to sales and customers.
In relations to OEMs:
To work with OEM Group to coordinate/assist Lubrizol affiliates and EO segment to secure/defend and enable business with OEMs. This includes advocacy work to enable best possible outcome for Lubrizol with respect to specifications and approvals.
Support OEM account managers to build & develop long term relationships with OEMs.
Collect information on vehicle market and OEMs’ requirements and translate / interpret into our business plans.
Identify technology trends / needs / gaps and feed these into our R&D and technology plans.
Act as the key interface and drive the engagement between Lubrizol’s R&D and business centers and Lubrizol’s Marketing/Technical group in SEA.
Support Product Development and Commercialization Excellent (PDACE) and proactively manage PC/HD product portfolio in SEA.
B) Viscosity Modifiers:
- Sales Support
Provide CS/VM product line support to Lubrizol Sales and segment at key accounts with customer visits, presentations, training and commercial support for technical projects
Support internal and external education seminars/presentations
Understand customer and competitor’s value propositions, strengths and weaknesses and identify threats; convert market changes into opportunities for growth
Gain market info to guide new product development strategies
Maintain opportunity list for region and drive activity necessary to gain business
- Product Line Management
Develop, communicate and implement the regional product line strategy
Provide marketing management (product, pricing, promotion) in designated PMG
Provide input and implement PLCM plans for the region
- Marketing Communications & Marketing
Work with PMG Commercial Managers and Global Marketing Communication to develop market communications, internal communications, and all promotional programs for region
Champion marketing concepts and techniques to correctly position Lubrizol’s strategy and resources
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
(Candidates having other qualifications with experience & proven track record in related positions may also be considered)
8-10 years in Product Management preferably in lubricants, additives or chemicals industry.
Commercial and marketing skills including product positioning, strategic and value pricing.
Knowledge of customers, OEMs, competitors and the market drivers.
Ability to establish strong relationships and to work within a matrix organization.
Willingness to travel extensively.
