The Business Manager will manage Personal & Home Care (PHC) and Skin Essentials (SE) business in Japan. Based in Tokyo, this role is accountable for sales, marketing and account management in Japan. This role will work closely with regional and global team across different functions to further develop and execute the growth strategy and drive profitability in Japan. The role will lead the sales and marketing team in Japan to develop organizational capabilities and sustainable the growth for PHC and SE businesses.
Own Revenue and Profitability objectives for PHC and SE in Japan.
Define and implement growth strategy in Japan to be consistent with the regional and global strategy, adapt to the local specific requirements and customer needs to deliver the desired results.
Oversee distributor and key customer relationships, manage and optimize distribution channels; build strong intimacy with key customers and outside influencers in Japan, let Lubrizol become a go-to partner in the Japan PHC and Skin Care markets.
Keep up with market and consumer trends, identifying new opportunities and new routes to markets.
Coordinate across regional and global supporting functions, Maintain an open and collaborative environment with regional and global teams.
Lead the local sales, technical and marketing team, set right goals and KPIs vs. targets for the team, develop and strengthen organization capabilities and skillsets, build and maintain a high-performing, motivated and passionate team.
Articulate and foster accountable culture and company core values in Japan team
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Business or Chemistry, or comparable education in related sciences.
Knowledge in personal and home care ingredient industry in Japan. Ideally over 8 years’ experience in this sector, well connected to reputed in the personal and skin care market.
Track record of successful business development.
Experienced in leading a team. Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage high performing, motivated and competent team in a multi-culture, matrixed global organization.
Ability to successfully navigate multicultural environments and communicate with global and regional teams.
Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial individual with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills.
Fluent English; other languages are a plus.
