OEM Account Manager, Japan

Summary:

To develop and manage relationships with selected OEMs, and to use those relationships to implement Lubrizol’s business strategies in accordance with agreed strategic plans in order to provide value to the OEM and share in that value.

Responsibilities:

  • External focus; to develop an extensive network of contacts at the selected OEM Accounts across a broad range of disciplines.

  • Internal focus; grow internal contact networks within Lubrizol (LZA & LZAM) market segments/business units, sales, R&D teams, etc.

  • Develop and execute the Lubrizol strategies at the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)

  • Develop and implement the strategic account plan for all identified OEM accounts using inputs from the OEM management team, Lubrizol business unit teams, and the OEM Council.

  • Be the lead point of contact for the selected key OEM's whilst providing flexibility for direct contact between the OEM and the business units when necessary.

  • Contribute to the global OEM team and work closely with other OEM account managers and our stakeholders (Lubrizol market segments/business units, sales, R&D teams, etc.) regionally and globally

  • Identify and develop opportunities for innovative new technologies and services that expand Lubrizol’s business portfolio at the OEM.

  • Measure progress at the OEM and update agreed scorecard metrics.

Requirements:

  • Self-starter, self-managed that can influence decisions at various levels of an organisation

  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to simplify often complex situations into understandable plans and project updates

  • Experience in dealing with manufacturers, and/or lubricant/fuel or speciality chemical industries

  • Technical competence in relating to manufacturer hardware systems and needs today, and for the future

  • High level of commercial acumen, with the ability to define and communicate the value proposition to the OEM.

  • A flexible team player that can unite and maximise the collaborative approach to business success with Lubrizol and OEM teams

  • Previous experience in managing regional and multi-national project teams

  • Good presentation skills coupled with an ability to use MS SharePoint, Excel, Word and other business management tools

  • A desire coupled with ability to develop Lubrizol future talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing

  • Degree or equivalent in engineering, business or chemistry. MBA or equivalent preferable

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in related industries

  • Fluent written and spoken English and Japanese desirable
