The HR Intern will work with the Corporate HR staff in Northeast Ohio with opportunities for global collaboration. Primary duties will be focused with the HR Culture and Inclusion team providing support and guidance to the broader HR community. In addition, the intern will partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the HR Culture and Inclusion team to communicate and influence on topics including culture, diversity and inclusion, onboarding, legal compliance, succession planning, and much more.

  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to review job descriptions and career ladders.

  • Research best practices on HR programs and policies and present findings to business leaders.

  • Analyse and compile people data (turnover, compensation, talent data, etc.) utilizing Pivot tables, charts and forms.

  • Attend meetings with business leaders to learn about the Lubrizol business and identify employee/manager needs.

  • Participate in candidate interviews for entry-level positions.

  • Assist in reporting within SAP Success Factors modules.

  • Learn about the talent management cycle and how talent is deployed within the organization.

  • Take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed by each department leader.

Requirements:

  • Able to work full-time during the summer (40 hours per week) and part-time (15-20 hours per week) during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, business management or related field from an accredited college or university with a graduation date of Spring 2021.

  • Students with a GPA at or above 3.0 will be given priority consideration.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities within campus or community organizations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (candidates will be asked to complete a short Excel test during the interview process).

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and writing skills.

  • Lead decisively by being timely and self-motivated with the ability to pick up new concepts.

  • Think external by fostering curiosity to learn and explore new ideas in a HR capacity.
