Maintenance Supervisor

The Process Development Department (PDD) is Lubrizol Additives’ (LZA) pilot plant. The PDD supports the development and scale-up of new components for LZA businesses, assists LZA’s global production facilities to resolve manufacturing issues, and manufacturers small volume production materials for sale to customers.

The PDD Maintenance Foreman oversees the PDD Mechanical Maintenance crew, which consists of 5 maintenance technicians. They ensure the safe execution of mechanical maintenance activities and ensures compliance with industry and company standards. The group primarily supports PDD Operations and Engineering staff by maintaining, repairing, and modifying the department’s installed mechanical asset base, which includes: reactor vessels, pumps, specialty lab equipment, piping networks and other process support equipment.

Job duties:

  • Manage Process Development maintenance crew – 5 technicians

  • Ensure safe execution of maintenance activities and compliance to company safety standards.

  • Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and industry best practices.

  • Monitor maintenance department budget

  • Manage work order backlog and establish group priorities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a plant maintenance role

  • Knowledgeable in piping and piping systems

  • Knowledgeable in rotating equipment repair

  • Able to read prints, P&ID’s and isometric drawings

  • Able to communicate with Mechanics, Engineers, and peers effectively

  • Able to use Microsoft Office suite of programs

  • Able to lead safety and team meetings and set agendas

  • Communicate and work effectively with other on-site maintenance crafts and contractors

Considered a plus

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Experience working in a pilot plant environment

  • Certified weld inspector with the American Welding Society

  • Certified for above ground storage tank inspection, API 653, with the American Petroleum Institute (API)

  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, IX, B31.1, and B31.3 codes

  • Experience with Lean Management Systems and 5S principles

  • SAP experience, particularly for maintenance and purchasing functions
