The position is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of global enterprise data network and voice infrastructure solutions. Troubleshooting and resolution of 3rd-level global data and voice network issues are also part of the role.
The role varies in nature from physical hands on activities touching the network equipment, to configuring/designing/troubleshooting network equipment remotely to transitioning Lubrizol's existing traditional network landscape to the next generation of the network which includes Software Defined Network and Virtualization of Network Services.
The position requires several years of broad and varied experiences with mostly Cisco network equipment but also must interact with and problem solve network technical issues with equipment from the F5 and Riverbed vendors. Certification of expertise from Cisco is required.
The position also requires software/programming experiences within the Linnux space as well as API programming skills to position Lubrizol with the needed skills in the evolving Software Defined Network Space.
The position will (as part of a broader team) ensure the 100 Lubrizol locations and 10,000+ users around the world are securely connected to the Lubrizol network and Internet/Cloud solutions that optimizes Lubrizol's budget for the space.
Responsible (as part of a broader team) to ensure the core data networks at Lubrizol's main four regional data centers have the proper and cost-effective network backbone to provide secure network connectivity to each of the regions of the world.
Required Skills & Qualifications
At least eight years of experience supporting a global Cisco environment
Desire to share knowledge and coach others in a diverse, collaborative team environment
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP
Understanding on incidents and requests
Working with Global IS teams i.e. Solution Centre, Network, Client support, messaging and information security
Attend Global team meetings when needed (may be off hours)
Experience troubleshooting, implementing and configuring the following:
Mixed VPN/MPLS WAN environment
Quality of service
Routing protocols such as BGP and EIGRP
Switching, wireless and firewall technologies (Cisco devices preferred)
F5 load balancers
Working knowledge of the following:
Network security technologies such as VPN, TACACS+ and Cisco ISE, IPS, web filtering
Network protocol analysis and troubleshooting using various tools (e.g. Wireshark) and equipment for root cause determination
Thorough understanding and experience in the network scripting and programming/automation space including:
Any Bachelor’s degree is a must.
CCNA certification (CCNP considered a plus)
Experience with ITIL is a plus
Experience with the following considered a plus
Avaya VoIP technologies including Communications Manager 6, Session Manager, Session Border Controller, SIP & H323
Riverbed WAN accelerators
Polycom or Cisco videoconferencing systems
Knowledge on Domain, servers etc. Soft Skills
Excellent and Fluent written and verbal English skills
Must be a self-starter and be able to use a high degree of initiative, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while providing quality customer service
Well-versed in crisis management and root cause analysis techniques
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Very strong documentation skills including experience with Microsoft Visio
