OEM Manager, Industrial (Hydraulic, Industrial Gear, Grease, Metalworking)


  • Develops and is accountable for relationships with selected industrial OEMs headquartered or subsidiaried within North America.

  • Influences and drives industry specifications to enhance Lubrizol’s potential for success.

  • Inputs into the development of products for application in hydraulic and industrial gear oils, metalworking, and grease to help grow the business and maximize oppurtunity in accordance with the strategic plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain extensive external network of contacts at the assigned OEMs

  • Develop and maintain extensive internal network of contacts within Lubrizol

  • Be the main point of contact for the assigned OEM's

  • Be part of the Industrial business group and work closely with Product Management, R&D, Marketing and Sales

  • OEM approvals, coordination, negotiation and maintenance

  • Influence OEM specifications and industry standards (mainly AGMA, ASTM and NFPA)

  • Identify, develop and pursue business opportunities for innovative new technologies at assigned OEMs

  • Gather market and competitive intellegence

  • Execute Lubrizol strategies at assigned OEMs

  • Evaluate market opportunites together with R&D

  • Anticipate trends and react accordingly

  • Represent Lubrizol in industry working groups, on congresses and symposia

Required Expertise / Knowledge / Skills

  • Degree or equivalent in engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry or comparable subject

  • Experience in dealing with equipment manufacturers

  • Experience with equipment in an industrial setting

  • Experience in working on lubricant related matters (for example development or application of lubricants)


  • Experience in working with multi-national project teams

  • Experience in working with Original Equipment Manufacturers

  • Technical competence relating to industrial systems, hydraulic and gear
