Trade Compliance Analyst

Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a market-driven global company that combines complex, specialty chemicals to optimize the quality, performance and value of customers’ products while reducing their environmental impact. Lubrizol produces and supplies technologies to customers in the global transportation, industrial and consumer markets. These technologies include lubricant additives for engine oils, driveline and other transportation-related fluids, industrial lubricants, and additives for gasoline and diesel fuel. In addition, Lubrizol makes ingredients and additives for home care and personal care products and pharmaceuticals, and specialty materials, including plastics technology and performance coatings in the form of resins and additives.

The position serves as subject matter expert for Import and Export trade compliance and is responsible for identifying, summarizing, and consulting and implementing and auditing best practices related to current and emerging regulatory compliance requirements. The qualified candidate must be able to work independently and use sound judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes

  • Applies regulatory knowledge of CFR 15 and CFR 19 to analyze, investigate and resolve non-routine problems

  • Maintain and develops compliance procedures to ensure compliance with various regulations.

  • Prepares reports to support department using either EXCEL or SAP BOBJ

  • Denied party screening

  • Assists in country, product and regulatory related research

  • Oversee internal audits

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • International Business, International Law or Supply Chain degree from an accredited institution or 5+ years of international trade compliance experience supporting manufacturing, sales, and supply chain operations

  • Extensive knowledge of US import and export regulations including but not limited to; CTPAT, FTA, ISA

  • Understanding of Partner Governmental Agency regulations including; EPA, APHIS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
