Summary of Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for front-line Human Resource leadership at the Wilmington, MA facility. This position is a strategic business partner providing a full spectrum of Human Resources services to support operations and business initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with leaders on strategic business, organizational and talent management issues in a consultative manner to align with business objectives.

  • Lead organizational and restructuring change management efforts in execution of key business decisions and projects.

  • As a member of the management team, support/direct cultural initiatives and participate in strategic alignment process.

  • Communicate and implement corporate/segment Human Resource initiatives; provide input from the business perspective during new program development.

  • Manage the talent management and associated process improvements for the business including: succession planning, performance and career management, and employee development.

  • Administer Human Resource policies and procedures; investigate, provide counsel and advice to employees and managers on Human Resource polices/practices/procedures.

  • Lead negotiation efforts for union contract and serve as link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering union contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations activities for the business.

  • Promote and maintain positive working environment.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements.

  • Support and manage HR systems to ensure legal compliance.

  • Lead and complete other miscellaneous projects as necessary.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in labor relations in a union environment.

  • Knowledge or experience in all aspects of Human Resources including employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, EEO/AAP, training and development, recruiting, supervisor/manager coaching, etc.

  • Ability to partner/consult with all levels of the organization; coach, influence and make sound judgment calls; solid negotiating and problem solving skills and decision making capability

  • Strong leadership skills especially in developing and implementing ethics, harassment and other policies as required.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as facilitation experience.

  • Self-motivated, proactive with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, “high energy", team oriented environment.

  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.

  • Potential for upward progression, including willingness to relocate.

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally.

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, HRIS).

  • Strong communication (written/verbal/listening) and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to be creative and resourceful in all aspects of the job.
